OREANDA-NEWS The Russian company VSMPO-Avisma is interested in all projects involving the supply of titanium, including foreign ones. Thus, a representative of the company answered a question from RIA Novosti about the possibility of resuming cooperation with Boeing.
The American Aerospace Corporation cancelled all contracts with Russia in March 2022 after the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine. Last week, First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov did not rule out that she would reconsider her decision if the warming of relations between the two countries turned into some concrete results.
In particular, the official noted that if Boeing wants to buy titanium again, Moscow is ready to discuss the issue. Maxim Khudalov, chief strategist at Vector Capital investment company, explained that VSMPO-Avisma is the world's largest titanium producer, and the contract with Boeing will increase production by five to six thousand tons per year.
"The corporation is interested in projects, including foreign ones, where there is a demand for high—tech titanium products, of course, provided that this is a mutually beneficial cooperation," VSMPO-AVISMA emphasized.
Earlier, the Telegram channel Shot, without specifying sources, reported that Boeing is preparing to fully return to Russia, including in the issue of direct supplies of components and new aircraft. The talks about the imminent arrival of Western companies to the Russian market are connected with the first talks between the US and Russian delegations in Riyadh, convened at the initiative of US President Donald Trump.
