OREANDA-NEWS  The representative office of the Russia Today media group in Azerbaijan has stopped working. The country's Foreign Ministry announced the abolition of the Russian media in a conversation with the Report agency.

A spokesman for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, Ayhan Hajizade, said that the representative office had eliminated Sputnik Azerbaijan's work in the country.

He added that the Russian media will be able to obtain accreditation for only one correspondent in Azerbaijan.

Earlier it became known that the TikTok social network blocked the Sputnik Tajikistan account. Representatives of the platform did not name the reasons for the incident. The publication suggested that access to the account was restricted for political reasons.

In January 2024, it became known that the ban on Sputnik broadcasting had been lifted in Armenia. It was noted that the publication had fulfilled the minimum requirements for the resumption of work. Sputnik Armenia's work was restricted in December 2023.
