OREANDA-NEWS By the end of April 2024, the total sales volume of light commercial vehicles (LCVs) increased by 30.8 percent compared to the same period in 2023 and reached the level of 9374 units. This is reported by Autostat with reference to statistical data from analysts of JSC PPK.

The LCV segment includes low-tonnage trucks. Compared to March 2024, the indicator increased by 3.4 percent. The domestic brand GAZ remained the leader in terms of sales of such machines in the country. It accounted for more than half of the Russian market (56 percent, 5,241 cars sold).

Three more Russian brands were in the top four in terms of demand. The second place was taken by UAZ (1602 cars), Sollers (833 units) and LADA (697). The Chinese Dongfeng closed the top 5 with a result of 184 cars sold. In turn, the most popular model in the LCV segment among Russians turned out to be the GAZ Gazelle NEXT (35 percent of the market).

Earlier, the Kommersant newspaper, citing data from Autostat, reported a 6.5 percent decrease in new car sales in Russia by the end of April. We are talking about a monthly decline. During the second month of spring, 137 thousand similar cars were sold in the country.
