OREANDA-NEWS  Ilya Sutskever, co-founder of the GPT OpenAI chatbot developer and one of the world's leading experts in machine learning and artificial intelligence, announced his resignation from the position of chief scientific consultant (chief scientist) of the company.

"After almost a decade, I have decided to leave OpenAI," Sutzkever wrote on the social network X. "The trajectory of the company's development has been simply magical, and I am sure that OpenAI will be able to create generative artificial intelligence that will be both safe and useful."

He hinted that he might launch a new project soon, but did not disclose details.

Sutzkever was at the center of a scandal at the end of last year with the resignation of OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. The media called him one of the main initiators of the decision of the company's board of directors to dismiss Altman, who returned to the position a week later amid outrage from shareholders and partners.

The cost of Open AI is estimated at more than $ 80 billion, writes the Financial Times.
