OREANDA-NEWS Vedant Patel, Deputy head of the State Department's press service, commented on the sanctions policy against Russia. His words are quoted by TASS.

At the briefing, Patel spoke about sanctions against Russia and stressed that the United States is not changing its approach to sanctions against the country. Thus, he commented on the changes in the regime of restrictions against Moscow.

"We have not taken our foot off the gas, and we will continue to make efforts both to continue supporting our Ukrainian partners, as well as for sanctions, export controls and other measures to hold the Russian Federation accountable. So there are no shifts at all. There is no political shift," the representative of the State Department said.

Earlier, the US Treasury Department announced the introduction of a ban on the import of aluminum, copper and nickel from Russia. The United Kingdom has also joined the restrictions.
